Dear Esteemed Colleagues,
As I conclude my tenure as President of the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for what we have collectively achieved during this remarkable journey.
When I assumed office, we set out with a clear vision: to strengthen our association, improve the welfare of our members, and enhance the quality of healthcare delivery at FMC Abeokuta. Today, I am proud to say that we have made significant strides in achieving these goals.
Leadership in an association like ours requires patience, dedication, and the ability to unite diverse perspectives towards a common goal. I have learned that true leadership is not about authority, but about service—service to our members, our patients, and the medical profession as a whole.
The challenges we faced tested our resolve, but each obstacle became an opportunity for growth and innovation. From navigating healthcare policy changes to addressing the needs of our members during difficult times, every experience has been invaluable.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to:
As I hand over the mantle of leadership to the incoming administration, I do so with confidence and optimism. The foundation we have laid is strong, and I trust that the new leadership will build upon it to achieve even greater heights.
To the incoming President and Executive Council: You have my full support. Lead with integrity, compassion, and vision. Remember that you serve not for glory, but for the betterment of our association and the advancement of healthcare in our institution and beyond.
To all members: Continue to uphold the values of our profession—excellence, service, and professionalism. Support your new leaders as you supported me, and together, you will accomplish remarkable things.
Serving as your President has been the honor of my career. The experiences, friendships, and memories created during this tenure will remain with me forever. While my formal role concludes, my commitment to ARD-FMCA and our noble profession continues unabated.
Let us continue to stand united, advocate fearlessly for what is right, and never lose sight of why we chose this profession—to heal, to serve, and to make a difference in the lives of those entrusted to our care.
Thank you for the privilege to serve.
With gratitude and best wishes,
Dr.Rilwan Adegboyega
